meditation helps to dissolve the ego, and, over time, the conscious and the subconscious began to work in unity.

The above spoils an otherwise excellent explanation. Ego is not a seperately addressable function. Ego is self.
Only the Divine dissolves the ego. The conscious and the subconscious cannot work in unity. They must be merged into one. Only God does that, as the Holy Spirit.

This is what Christ consciousness is. Some call it the “super consciousness”.

Consciousness is knowing. Thus any intuitive individual can claim to be conscious in the way these people must mean it.
Consciousness involves the mind. Therefore, 'Christ consciousness' must mean 'the mind of Christ'. Nobody will convince me, ever, that simple meditation is capable of anything even remotely approaching that.

The story of Adam and Eve has powerfully touched people for thousands of years, yet today there are widely differing opinions about the truth of the story.

Purely symbolic IMO. Balance, Androgeny, Sexual energy, as it's termed, Kundalini/ Purification by the Holy Spirit. (No, not the Kundalini smeared all over youtube and the rest of the 'net. Nor 'born again people.). Evolving above Earth bound 'duty'.
