Negative side effects of Transcendental meditation.

The amazing thing is that people believe it (including myself for 28 years) and keep coming back for more. It's not good to get lost in the details of an argument and fail to see the obvious. TM is not all good. It can only be seen as such by someone who knows anything about it if they are systematically deceived - and they must participate in the deception themselves

The point is, if you want to take on the realm of the mystical (Maharishi was a mystic), meaning it was hidden from general consumption for a reason, then you run the risk that goes with it. Youtube is replete with videos and comments about messing about with this and the like that people don't understand.

I am inclined to agree. Is this article saying TM is good?

People interested in learning the technique then attend a 10- to 15-minute interview and 1 to 2 hours of personal instruction. Following a brief ceremony, they're each given a mantra, which they're supposed to keep confidential.

This is the other side. The so called 'spritual emergency'. It's far more serious than that. You risk your mental state if you are not up to the task. Hence the calls that you must be ready or you will have a bad experience.
It isn't Kundalini, ascension, or all the other terms you may be coaxed with, but you may notice the similarities in outcome. You will face the dark in some cases, and that requires innate strength of mind, and purity of thought.
Removing the boundaries that TM promises means you are left defenceless. You should ponder the implications of that in the Spirit realm, if nowhere else.
I've spoken to one who took part in this. "Being thrown around like a rag-doll" was one of the effects.
