    In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Sri Krishna describes the three Gunas (Qualities) of Prakriti (Material Nature) to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. These are called the Sattva (goodness & harmony), Rajas (activity & passion) and Tamas (darkness & chaos).
