Nowhere do i see anything stating Adam was mortal from creation. He was never a mortal fetus. God breathed life into him, remember? The fact he (Masculine) was immortal, and by splitting of his spirit, Eve (Feminine) also, the tree of life was not a need. Only when the spirit of God was removed (the actual death they suffered) could the tree help them. Unfortunately they are now tainted, mortal, and have (ungodly) capacity to abuse, so immortal life is no longer an option, so the tree of knowledge cannot be risked, and is denied. Every action has a consequence, and should you do the wrong thing, you pay the price. Quite logical I think.Adam was from the beginning a mortal being, in opposition to Christian theology claiming Adam was created perfect and immortal. The latter has no biblical support whatsoever. If Adam and Eve were able to eat from the Tree of Life, they would have both become immortal.
Course that's what happens, they did become as gods in a particular way, by now knowing good and evil, which they previously didn't, but lost the rest of the Divine entitlement (the death), that the serpent neglected to mention. They were deceived. While still alive in body, spiritually they are dead. Here you can see the Serpent has asked Eve a question about not being able to eat from every tree. When Eve responds that Yahweh said she would die by eating from the forbidden tree, he informs her that’s false. He tells her that her eyes will open and she will be like Yahweh, knowing good and evil….and that’s exactly what happens! Yahweh lies to Adam and Eve concealing the truth about the nature of the tree of KNOWLEDGE.
Despite the command from God to stay away from the tree, Adam was still able to reach it, should he, and afterwards, Eve, want to. At no point was access denied, so they still have the choice to comply, or not.
You know, the Bible is not meant to be taken in context....
